Can Kids & Teens do the Workouts?
Although Burn360 isn't specifically designed for kids, it can be used by children as young as 13 (under proper guidance and supervision).
Contrary to popular belief, weight training will not stunt the growth of youth (that’s a myth). If the appropriate load and proper techniques are used for the exercises, weight training can be incredibly beneficial to the strength and athletic development of a young person.
If your child has never done weight training before, try to get them to a basic introductory class for weight training to learn the proper technique for fundamental exercises such as squats, deadlifts, lunges, press-ups, push-ups, and pull-ups. Good technique is key to performing exercises safely and staying injury-free.
All of the Burn360 workouts can be scaled down to meet the level of your child’s fitness and strength. Choose lighter weights to start out with. All other variables (rest intervals and speed) can also be adjusted to lower the intensity of the workout. Although the program is based on high intensity and it’s encouraged that they give 100% effort, it’s more important to start out with a manageable level of difficulty so the child can make gradual progress as they go through the program. And, gaining a sense of accomplishment is vital to their continued motivation and development.
